Description

St. Peter's Apiary is operated and maintained by Chuck Dailey, a Certified Master Beekeeper. The apiary was created in 2014 and is part of Growing Common Ground Farm, a community outreach program of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. St. Peter's Apiary has been a teaching facility since inception. The facility has multiple hives and support equipment (including 50+ sets of bee suites/gloves) for non-beekeeping visitors.

Each apiary visitor has the option of participating in all hive inspections/demonstrations with close supervision from the Apiary manager.

April 26, 10am-1pm; topics include Spring Management, Adding Supers and Basic Hive Inspections. 

May 24, 10am-1pm; topics include Installing Packages, Marking Queens, Varroa Checks. 

June 14, 10am-1pm; topics include Installing Nucs, Making Splits, Varroa Checks. 

July 26, 10am-1pm; topics include Checking Supers, Basic Hive Inspections, Pest Management. 

August 23, 10am - 1pm; topics include Removing Supers, Fall Prep, Varroa Checks. 

September 27, 10am-1pm; topics include Hive Inspections, Varroa Checks/Treatments, Fall Feeding Options.
